Today a group of of our Kookaburra Kids participated in a specially organised school holiday surfing lesson from Cronulla Surf School.
Cronulla Surf School sponsored the day, delivering a private group surf lesson for the kids in perfect beach conditions at Cronulla. This is the second time Cronulla Surf School have sponsored an activity day for the Kookaburra Kids Foundation.
Mark Aprilovic, owner of Cronulla Surf School said, “It was great to be working with Kookaburra Kids, being able to see the kids come down to the surf, enjoy a day of respite and have a great time.”
The program included a two-hour surf lesson, beach activities, and BBQ lunch. Helping out on the day were staff from local businesses’ Gymea Tradies, Sydney Airport and volunteers from the Rotary Club of Caringbah.
Pam Brown, CEO of Kookaburra Kids, said, “School holidays can be a tough time for some families, it’s fantastic to have the support from local businesses, helping us to give local Kookaburra Kids children a chance to have fun, experience new things, and also provide a much-needed respite for families.”
