Kookaburra Kids has raised over $17,000 to support its programs for children with a parent who has mental illness at its 4th annual golf day held on Friday, November 17.
Held at The Ridge Golf Course, 95 golfers participated in the 18-hole Ambrose tournament, in support of the event.
The day was sponsored by about 15 businesses including Ray White Menai, Club Central Menai, Stewart Brown, Southside Staffing Solutions and Southern Star Inspections.
Tynan Motors even provided a Subaru WRX as a hole-in-one prize, although no-one managed to land the grand prize.
Ray White Menai Principle Gavin Ottaway said our team is excited and proud to have contributed as the event’s major sponsor for the second year in a row.
Club Central Menai, along time supporter of the event presented a cheque for $2500 to Kookaburra Kids CEO Pam Brown on the day.
Pam Brown CEO Kookaburra Kids said “this year was our biggest day yet with support from players and businesses growing in strides each year”.
Funds raised from the day go towards the Kookaburra Kids respite and mental health education program, supporting school-aged children living in families affected by mental illness.
A huge thank you to Adam and Julie from Cerebos for donating their time and catering, ensuring all our golfers were happy and enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch. Also a big thank you to all of our sponsors who helped to make the day such a great success.
