About Kookaburra Kids
Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation, (previously known as Camp Kookaburra) was founded in 2002 by Dianne Madden who through personal experience identified the lack of support for children living in a family affected by mental illness. The first camp was held with 16 kids. Today over 1100 kids are registered to the Kookaburra Kids program.
Our Purpose :
To provide intervention and education in a fun way through camp and activity programs.
To facilitate unforgettable experiences for children giving them a break from their caring role and a safe environment to share their experiences with children living in similar situations.
To deliver life changing outcomes that positively affect the lives of kids in Australia.
All children who are affected by parents or other family members with a mental illness deserve to be supported, valued and provided the opportunity to strive toward their potential.
