92 Sutherland Shire golfers teed off at The Ridge Golf Course, Barden Ridge on Friday, October 21, in support of Kookaburra Kids.

This is the third time we’ve have hosted the day – and this year was the biggest yet! TYNAN Motors provided a Subaru Levorg as the hole-in-one prize and Sutherland Shire Council, The Ridge Golf Course and Ray White Menai were amongst local businesses who supported the event.

For the third year in row, Club Central Menai was a sponsor of the golf day.

“Kookaburra Kids is a worthwhile cause that is making a difference in the lives of kids who have a parent with a mental illness. Club Central Menai is proud to be a Kookaburra Kids supporter,” Club Central Menai president, Brian Cloney said.

The day was a huge success, raising over $15,000 for the charity’s respite and mental health education program – supporting school age kids living in families affected by mental illness.

“This is fantastic community event, which with the support from local corporates and businesses continues to grow year on year. Many local businesses use this event as an opportunity to network while raising money for kids in need” said Pam Brown, CEO of Kookaburra Kids.

Perfect weather conditions helped make the golf day the best to date!

Local businessperson Peter Nielsen said “the day was brilliant…looking forward to next year!”

After all teams had completed the 18-hole course, players gathered for the golf presentation and gourmet BBQ dinner, sponsored by Cerebos Australia. During the evening guests participated in live auctions, raffle and enjoyed entertainment by local musician Jordan Kenny, who donated his time to be there.
