The Australian Federation of International Forwarders (AFIF) raised proceeds of $10,500 at their 12th Annual Charity Golf Day in aid of The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation, on Thursday 18th August.
Over 100 Freight Forwarders (or should we say keen golfers) made their way to the Macquarie Links Golf course on Thursday 18th August – not only to network amongst their industry peers, play some golf and enjoy a lovely lunch, but also to generously raise funds for the Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation.
A variety of items were donated for the Silent Auction which added to the funds also raised by raffles and personal donations.
“I first learned about Kookaburra Kids when I heard their Ambassador, Chris Bath, talking about the charity on the radio a few months ago”, said Paul Golland, Chairman of the AFIF. “I was instantly drawn to the cause and myself and Brian Lovell, AFIF CEO, agreed to allocate the Foundation to our Charity Golf Day. We are so pleased to be aligned with Kookaburra Kids and even more pleased that those within our industry embraced this cause.”
Members at the lunch were all very moved by the cause and its positive impact on the children, and support was not only shown from Corporations as a whole, but individuals amongst the group.
“The support of major corporations and industries like these contributes greatly to the delivery of the program to our kids.” says Pam Brown, Kookaburra Kids CEO. “Without this support we cannot grow our offering and some children who could benefit from Kookaburra Kids may even miss out. We are very appreciative to the AFIF for its support to Kookaburra Kids.
There are many companies to thank for the success of this event, so big thanks to:
