On Sept 27/28/29 a group of kids traveled to Sydney from Orange, Dubbo, Bathurst and surrounding areas on their first camp to Collaroy. Perfect Spring weather helped make this one of our best camps ever. With bowling and laser tag on Friday night, surfing with Manly Surf School on Saturday, movies and screen printing Saturday night. Then on Sunday flying fox and mobile initiatives, it is not hard to see why all our volunteer leaders slept well Sunday night!  We met some more amazing kids dealing with issues that no child should have to.  We were sorry to see them go home but look forward to doing it all again next year.  We received some amazing feedback from the kids, including this comment via one of the Care workers (Ros) who came on the bus with the kids;

“Dear KKids, We all loved the weekend. We had the privilege of having Ellie in the car for an hour after we dropped the other kids off – she raved about everything. The laser skirmish was ‘great fun’, the surfing was ‘awesome’, the leaders were all really nice, the screen printing was wonderful and she cried at the end of the movie because she was so tired and happy!!

I have new energy from the weekend and will be in touch about how we might help from here in future.”

This is wonderful to hear and gives us renewed energy to keep progressing with our expansion plans to offer more and more services to children in these regional areas.
