These April school holidays, five activity days were held for kids in various areas of NSW with close to 150 kids enjoying the free activities.

The activities launched with mini Golf at Putt Planet in the first week, where the kids of the Sutherland Shire and St George spent a fun filled day testing their golfing skills. This activity was not only funded by the Commonwealth Bank but they also supplied a team of volunteers who enjoyed some cheeky golfing competition.

The South Coast kids were next on the calendar for some fun, enjoying a trip to the movies followed by some yummy burgers, thanks to Grill’d Wollongong.

Kookaburra Kids then headed north to Newcastle where a group of local kids enjoyed a movie and lunch thanks to supporters’ Balderstones – it was the first activity day to be held in Newcastle and it was a resounding success.
The second week of the Holidays didn’t disappoint with two super charged days on the 19th and 20th April.

The first saw the kids of Western Sydney roller-skating like a scene from an 80’s musical while the second saw the kids of Northern Sydney overcoming their fears challenging rock climbing at the an Indoor Rock Climbing Centre – and boy did they climb high. Thanks to the team of HDI Global, the kids not only climbed to new heights but were well rewarded with pizza at the end. The fabulous team of HDI assisted on the day taking on the role of belayer as the kids took to the walls. These activity days proved to be a test of both coordination and stamina as well as a whole lot of fun!

Thanks to all our volunteers for helping out from Commonwealth Bank, HDI Global and Sydney Airport, and our fabulous Kookaburra volunteers who continue to help our kids just be kids. See you all next school holidays!
