Over the weekend St George Foundation invited Kookaburra Kids to participate in the 2016 NRL Charity Shield by forming the guard of honour at the game welcoming the St George Illawarra Dragons and South Sydney Rabbitohs onto the field.

Our Kids had a ball, with one Kookaburra Kids child saying, “It’s one of the best days of my life”.

“It was fantastic to see our kids out on the field representing the thousands of children across Australia who are helped by St.George Foundation each year” said Pam Brown, CEO of Kookaburra Kids.

Now in its 33rd year the Charity Shield commenced in 1982 starting the tradition of the game supporting local charities and causes. In 2016, all the proceeds from the game will support three charities – the St George and Wollongong Public Hospitals in addition to the St.George Foundation.

The St George Foundation is a great supporter of Kookaburra Kids with the Foundation recently receiving grant funding allowing Kookaburra Kids to expand the program in the Illawarra region and support more kids in need.

Thank you St George Foundation for supporting Kookaburra Kids and for providing our kids with such an amazing experience.
