Kookaburra Kids’ A Night of Hope Charity Dinner a Flying Success
Thank you to everyone who supported the Kookaburra Kids’ A Night of Hope Charity Dinner, helping to raise over $100,000 towards launching the Taking Flight program specially designed to meet the needs of Kookaburra Kids transitioning into tertiary study or the workforce.
Hosted by Kookaburra Kids ambassador Jim Wilson, the event was an incredible night of food and entertainment including performances by Cassidy-Rae Wilson and one our very talented Kookaburra Kids, Gemma.
The most inspiring moment of the night is when we heard Kookaburra Kid Ursula’s story of growing up in a household where both parents are living with mental illness and the difficulties she has experienced navigating the world of school to university and work.
Special thanks to guests The Hon. Scott Morrison MP, Treasurer of Australia, The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP, Premier of NSW, The Hon. Mark Speakman SC MP, New South Wales Attorney General, Lee Evans MP Member for Heathcote, Jessica Rowe AM, Peter Overton, Allan Sparkes CV, OAM, VA, John Brogden AM, Lucy Brogden, Kookaburra Kids’ Young Ambassador Rose Cox and Kookaburra Kids Major Strategic Partners PAYCE, Thales Australia, SUEZ and Big Sister Foundation for supporting the event.
