In late September, Kookaburra Kids Joined forces with Royal Far West to hold a camp for kids from regional NSW, at Manly, with over 50 campers and volunteers.
The camp was super fun and a great success!
It all started on Friday night with Icebreaker games and a team photo challenge. The kids loved the photo challenge, which combined team building, creativeness and little bit of sightseeing around Manly.
Saturday morning the camp was up early ready to take on a surf lesson with Manly Surf School. What a fun day! Volunteers and the kids had ball learning beach safety rules and of course how to catch some totally awesome waves!
After surf school, it was time for Chat Group, followed by lunch. After lunch it was time to catch a ferry to Luna Park! Where there were smiles, laughs, some big screams from the kids, and wobbly knees from the volunteers!
After Luna Park the group headed back to camp, with the day ending with a movie and supper.
Sunday was a beautiful day and the perfect way to end our camp. The kids and volunteers had breakfast, got together for Chat Group, and then enjoyed a last swim at the beach and some beach games.
While it was sad to say goodbye, we all had a fantastic time and we look forward to seeing the kids and volunteers return next time.
Thank you to all our staff, volunteers and amazing kids who made this camp such a great success and lots of fun!
