Kookaburra Kids CEO Pam Brown, Program Manager Suzy Nixon, Camp Clinical Consultants Lee Knight and Crosbi Knight teamed up to host a Kookaburra Kids Volunteer Training Weekend.

Held last weekend, the objective of the training weekend was to train and develop our volunteers’ knowledge and skills surrounding what mental illness is, how different mental illnesses might present to our campers and to learn how best to support Kookaburra Kids campers and their families.

It was the first training weekend of its kind and with 20 volunteers attending it was a great success! Not an easy weekend away there was a lot of work to get through but participants are now ready and empowered to support our campers at next camp.

We are proud to be able to deliver training programs such as this to our volunteers – thank you to all volunteers that attended!

A big thank you must also go to both Lee and Crosbi whose unwavering dedication and commitment to the Kookaburra Kids program made the weekend possible. Not only did they volunteer their time to develop the training program but they helped to facilitate it as well!

Special thanks must also go to Paul and Sandra Salteri for donating their time and property to host the training weekend.
