Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation Inc has won the Outstanding Community Service category at the 2015 Sutherland Shire Local Business Awards. Winning the award recognises the charity’s high level of commitment to the local community and to kids across NSW.
The winners were announced at the gala presentation held at Sharkies Leagues Club Cronulla on Wednesday 4 November.
Pam Brown, CEO of Kookaburra Kids said “this award is a result of the commitment, passion and dedication of our small team.”
“It is a win for the Foundation but most importantly it is a win for the children and families we support.” said Pam.
Kookaburra Kids is a local children’s charity based in Caringbah. The Foundation has been in operation for 12 years providing free respite camps, activity days and mental health education for children aged 8-18yrs who are living in a family affected by mental illness.
Upon hearing the winning announcement, Pam joined by her team jumped from her chair and together the team made their way to the stage to share the magnificent moment.
Pam said, “It was a thrill to hear the name of our organisation announced in a room of full of 800 of our peers, all from outstanding local businesses.”
