Our Kookaburra Kids Grades 3 – 4 camp took place in the second weekend in September and what a camp it was! For some it was their first time coming to Kookaburra Kids camp but that didn’t stop them getting involved, having fun and just being kids!

Here’s what we go up to…

Our Kookaburra Kids and volunteers arrived early Friday evening; first up Camp Manager Amy, welcomed everyone to camp and introduced the kids to their cabins and their cabin leaders. Next up was dinner and a chance for the kids to get to know each other and the volunteers. After dinner it’s time for the kids to get involved with some icebreaker games and arts and craft activities. The kids had an absolute ball getting creative at the craft stations.

Main craft activity was camp mascot building! Volunteers and kids alike had lots of fun working together to design their mascots which would be used in their team games.

Next day the campers were up early and ready to start the day. First up was breakfast, followed by Kookaburra Kids “Chat Group” and then morning tea. After refuelling at morning tea the kids were ready to tackle the day’s activities including taking on the Giant Tower, Challenge Course and everyone’s favourite, the GIANT SWING!

After the activities the kids enjoyed free time followed by photo fun with the Kookaburra Kids Photobooth. After dinner the kids and leaders got together to enjoy a movie night complete with popcorn.

Sunday morning, the kids were up and ready to go! Once breakfast was complete the kids got into their groups for “Chat Group”. Followed by morning tea and then it was time to get our camp mascots involved for the camp’s last activity – Mini Olympics!

The kids, volunteers and mascots got into the Olympic spirit, taking part in fun sporting challenge games including: an obstacle course, egg and spoon races, bean bag games and more!

After our mini Olympics was complete, it was time for lunch and then time for the final presentation and farewell. Everyone had completed the activities it was time to say goodbye.

Thank you to all our volunteers and kids who made this camp lots of fun – we look forward to seeing you all next time!
