First Kookaburra Kids camp of the year and running her first camp, new program co-ordinator Olga welcomed for the first time primary school kids from regional NSW to join them for a fun-filled weekend at Lutunda Yarramundi.

Braving the hot weather 30 campers and volunteers arrived to camp.

Kicking off Friday night with some friendly competitions of Human Bingo, Charades and Pictionary, bonded our cabins closely together. Everyone then went to enjoy plenty of craft and games, including biscuit decorating, sand art and flag decorating!

Campers and volunteers enjoyed the breakfast of champions starting Saturday with a yummy bacon-egg sandwich, preparing them for Chat Group followed by a day of activities. Kids and volunteers enjoyed a jam-packed program challenging themselves on the Tower Climb, exploring the river on canoes, and working together to beat records on crate climb. The crate climb brought out some friendly sister rivalry with 4 sisters beating each other records and a staggering 18 crates record being set!

After a big and tiring day in the sun, campers and volunteers enjoyed a delicious dinner and relaxed watching the BFG all together.

Sunday morning campers found some perfect spots around the site to have their Chat Group in the sunshine. So that everyone could cool off campers and volunteers took part in Water Games where everyone enjoyed getting soaked by waterballoons, doing team challenges and winning some fun prizes!

While it was sad to say goodbye, we all had a great time and look forward to seeing the kids and volunteers return next time!

Thank you too all our staff, volunteers and amazing kids who made this camp such a success and so much fun!
