Patricia Reid announced as new Chair for Australian Kookaburra Kids’ Foundation

Australian Kookaburra Kids’ Foundation has welcomed its new Chair Patricia Reid.
Patricia is currently CEO and Managing Director at CF Asia Pacific, a rail transportation services company incorporating leasing and maintenance services, provided nationally to the rail & related freight industries.
Patricia was appointed to the Board of the Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation Limited in May 2015 and has been Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee since 2015. Patricia has over 30 years’ working experience, with international and local experience as a board member, committee member and CEO/CFO & adviser to boards.
Patricia’s prior experience has been with rapidly growing enterprises and multinational listed and private businesses, together with a local ASX listed company. She is currently a member of all Boards of the CF Asia Pacific Group and Non-Executive Director of an international art business. Patricia is a previous Board member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, where she worked for 15 years reaching Tax Partner in EY & then became CFO of a Hong Kong based trading group, after spending 5 years in London commencing her career with EY.
Incoming Chair, Patricia Reid said ‘I am thrilled to step into the Chair role with an organisation that has proven to be pioneering in providing valuable services to children growing up in families affected by mental illness . Working with the retiring Chair, Alexandra Zammit, the Board and the Executive team for the past four years has been an absolute privilege. I look forward to the next stage of AKKF’s development and where we can take the organisation as we progress with our growth strategy.’
Former Chair, Alexandra Zammit, steps down after a five year term as Director and later Chair of AKKF and has overseen some great changes and growth for the innovative organisation.

“It has been an honour and privilege. I wish the Foundation, the staff and all the Kookaburra Kids the very best in the future,” said Alexandra Zammit.

CEO Chris Giles said: “I welcome Patricia to the role as Chair and we are very excited to continue working together on connecting with our community and to care for those who need our support. Patricia’s company has provided ongoing financial support and employee volunteering time to support AKKF over the last 5 years. This has included running special train trips for our children with a dedicated train for AKKF children, staff and volunteers.
“I would like to thank Alexandra for her role as chair. She has left a great legacy for the organisation and we are proud of what we have achieved during her term.”

Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation is a non-government organisation founded in 2002 and provides evidence-based, age appropriate prevention and early intervention mental health services embedded within a peer based social and activity-based format. The organisation supports children aged 8-18 living in families affected by mental illness.
