During the Easter school holidays the McDonald’s restaurants in the Sutherland Shire banded together to help raise close to $7,000 for Kookaburra Kids.
The initiative, which ran from 12 April to 7 May, saw ‘Helping Hands’ available in the Carringbah, Miranda, Tarren Point, Sylivania, Kirrawee, Engadine, Heathcote and Menai restaurants for a $2 donation. Customers could write their name on their Helping Hand, which was displayed in restaurant windows.
The money raised will go to the Kookaburra Kids programs providing recreational and educational camps and other activities, giving kids a break in a fun, positive and safe environment.
Louie Treffiletti, McDonald’s Miranda, Carringbah and Taren Point Licensee is thrilled and thankful for the support from local residents to continue to help local families through this special partnership with Kookaburra Kids.
“We’re proud to be supporting the community through such an amazing initiative. Helping Hands is a great way for the community to assist the Kookaburra Kids Foundation in providing support to children who are living in a family that is affected by mental illness,” said Louie.
A cheque presentation was held on Monday, 21 August at Engadine McDonald’s restaurant.
