Who doesn’t think about running away to the circus at least once in their lives?

Around 40 Kookaburra Kids along with some enthusiastic Sydney Airport volunteers had a chance to do just that

in a recent September school holiday activity, proudly sponsored by Sydney Airport.

After enjoying a lovely sun-drenched picnic in the park, Kookaburra Kids from the St George and Sutherland Shire areas ventured to Sydney Trapeze School and conquered fears trapezing, tried their luck at tight rope walking, plate spinning, juggling, learnt circus tricks and enjoyed some fish and chips.

Staff from Sydney Airport took advantage of their volunteering hours to spend time with kids from the Kookaburra Kids Foundation.

“I just wanted to pen a short note to say what a fabulous day yesterday was and I feel very lucky to have been able to participate in it.” says Kay Fox, Senior Business Partner at Sydney Airport. “The kids had such a great time, not to mention myself as well.  Thank you for the opportunity and all the best with your program of work.”

There were four staff present at the activity, and a further three staff have assisted at activity days earlier in the year. Thanks to the support of Sydney Airport and its staff, Kookaburra Kids can share experiences they may not otherwise get to enjoy during the school holidays.
