Bullying No Way

Bullying can have a devastating effect on a young person’s sense of belonging, mental health, and overall well-being. That’s why during ‘Bullying No Way Week’, Kookaburra Kids is dedicated to spreading awareness and showing support for young people and their families impacted by mental illness.

Did You Know?
According to the latest data from Bullying No Way: infographic-facts-figures.pdf (bullyingnoway.gov.au)

  1. Approximately 1 in 4 Australian students in Year 4 to Year 9 (27%) reported being bullied every few weeks or more often.
  2. Hurtful teasing is the most common form of bullying, followed by the spreading of hurtful lies.
  3. Students are most likely to tell their parents about bullying, more than anyone else.

How Parents Can Help:

  • Regularly talk to your children about their day, friendships, and feelings.
  • Work together with the school to address and prevent bullying.

At Australian Kookaburra Kids, we take bullying very seriously. We ensure that all young people, staff, and volunteers feel safe and respected within our programs. Everyone has the right to feel safe—whether at home, at school, or in our programs.
