ANZAC Events in the NT

In the lead up to ANZAC Day, Kookaburra Kids has been working across the Darwin region to bring Defence families and communities together through a series of meaningful, hands-on activities.

With the support of the Northern Territory Government, we have partnered with Defence School Mentors, RSL Queensland and Soldier On Australia to deliver ANZAC-themed sessions in local schools.

These sessions have provided young people with the opportunity to engage in activities such as baking traditional ANZAC biscuits and creating themed crafts, while also creating space to reflect, connect and learn in a supportive environment.

Importantly, this work reflects the broader impact of our Defence Kids program in partnership with Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs, supporting young people to build mental health literacy, strengthen peer connections and develop the confidence to seek support, particularly in the context of the unique challenges associated with Defence family life.

At a time of national reflection, ensuring young people feel recognised, connected and supported remains at the heart of what we do.
