Caring for those who care!

Recently over 60 veterans and their families came together in Brisbane for a Caring for Veterans event, led by veterans advocate and former Australian Army helicopter pilot, Kevin Humphreys DSC.

Our CEO Seán O’Halloran and COO Alison Schultz were proud to attend on behalf of Kookaburra Kids, standing alongside carers and families who play such an important role in supporting loved ones living with mental illness.

Through our Wellways Young Carer Program, we’re committed to ensuring young carers know they’re not alone. Events like this shine a light on the strength of carers and the importance of giving them tools to look after their own wellbeing.

We’re pleased to share that our Young Carers program in partnership with Wellways Australia is now reaching more young people, with expansion into South East Queensland and Western Sydney following a successful rollout in Far North Queensland. https://kookaburrakids.org.au/young-carers/
