Kookaburra Kids Making a Greater Impact Than Ever Before
The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation is proud to share the release of our 2024/25 Impact Report, showcasing the life-changing difference our programs are making for young people impacted by family mental illness.
This year’s results reflect not only growth in participation, but a deeper impact on the wellbeing, confidence, and resilience of the young people we support.
Independent evaluation shows that Kookaburra Kids programs are driving positive outcomes in three key areas that protect long-term mental health and wellbeing:
Mental Health Literacy: 3 out of 4 young people learned something new about mental illness and how to prevent it.
Peer Connection: 3 out of 4 participants made at least one lasting friendship through Kookaburra Kids.
Help-Seeking Behaviour: Our programs can increase a young person’s willingness to seek help by up to 30%.
These factors are known to safeguard long term positive mental health and wellbeing, improving outcomes for young people and reducing their risk of developing mental illness.
